Oil Spill in Mississippi River

On Wednesday a fuel laden barge collided with a tanker in New Orleans and the leaking oil coated the river to almost 100 miles from the centre of the city. The river was closed to all boats and ships.

Dolly becomes weak hurricane to hit Mexico-Texas border

The hurricane dolly downgraded to tropical storm after striking between the borders of the states Texas and Mexico yesterday as the winds fell from 100 mph to 70 miles per hour and it is expected that the hurricane will continue to weaken and become one of the weakest hurricanes to hit Mexico-Texas border.

Nevada Democrat advocates working on solar energy

The rise in gasoline and oil products and the recent announcement by the U.S. President Bush to start off shore oil drilling has led the Nevada Democrat Senate leader Harry Reid to speak about increasing oil prices and to start a plan to capture the solar energy to reduce dependency on gasoline and crude oils.
