Pakistan’s credit ratings lowered

The Standard & Poor’s Ratings Services will be lowering the sovereign credit ratings of Pakistan if the killing of the political leader Benazir Bhutto is followed by high levels of violence in the country.

The S&P said that the killing of the leader is a blow to democracy and has created an uncertain situation in Pakistan .The election declared to he held in the country in January are also doubtful. (more…)

Sunnyvale woman suspected of contracting TB on air plane

A 30 year old unnamed Sunnyvale woman is suspected to have contracted highly infectious TB while on travel from the Chicago’s O’Hare airport on American Airlines Flight 293 that traveled from New Delhi to Chicago. The woman traveled on Dec. 13 and 44 people have been identified who were sitting in the same air plane within the two rows. (more…)

Parents of 16 year old want her off the life supporting system

The parents of a 16 year old girl have opted for putting off the life supporting machines given to their daughter. The 16 year old is admitted to the Montefiore Medical Center in New York in a state of irreversible coma. The mother of the girl first opted for pulling off the life-supporting machines which her husband had initially decided to fight in court but later Leonard Peters, father of the girl also sanctioned for the option.
