Biodiversity report shows governments failed to achieve targets
According to the biodiversity reports many governments failed to achieve the biodiversity targets in 2002 and a quarter of plant species are on the verge of extinction. The UN secretary General Ban Ki Moon said the consequence of the collective failure will be severe.
Achim Steiner, UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Director said “the world will have over 9 million people by 2050 and the need for biodiversity increases with the increase in population.”
