Lanka halts operation to allow civilians to leave LTTE areas

Sri Lanka has vowed that it will not allow the Tamil Tigers to rebel itself in the time gap when they halted the war to allow civilians to leave he region occupied by the Tamil Tigers. French and U.K envoys have been visiting the country to discuss the plight of the civilians that are trapped in the war zone.
The government troops said it is halting heavy firing because its aim is to rescue the 20,000 civilians that are still held by the LTTE.
