Scientists alert over ice bridge rupture in Antarctica


Scientists find the recent ice bridge rupture of Antarctica is a strong indication of global warming. The ice bridge was a link between two islands of Antarctica and rupture of Ice Bridge may indicate that the Wilkins Ice Shelf is on the brink to collapse.

The removal of the bridge link will allow ice to move freely into open sea and between Charcot and Latady islands. Professor David Vaughan said they were expecting the breaking from some weeks when they noticed cracks in the bridge. GPS tracker was planted on the bridge in the month of January.
