Powerful earthquake hits Italy killing at least 50

A powerful earthquake measuring 6.3 on Richter scale hit the mountainous area of Central Italy at about 3.30 a.m. in the town of L’Aquila that is located at a distance of 75 miles from Rome and as per latest reports about 50 people have got killed and many are trapped in the debris.

A 22 year old student said people were in bed when the building started collapsing and residents were covered with dust and blood as they got removed from debris. Injured were taken to local hospitals but later except one or two hospitals, others were rendered dangerous.
