Stampede in Indian temple kills 147

147 people got killed in a stampede in a temple in Rajasthan in India on Tuesday morning as the most important religious festival of the year started on 30th September. The steep slope to the temple on the hilltop was crowded with people.

Most of the Tuesdays are marked by heavy gathering at the temples and as the 10 days festival started on Tuesday the crowd increased to 20,000.Rajsthan home minister said that it will conduct an enquiry over the unpredictable event.
