Michigan government data show poor economy picture

The Michigan government data showed that it was the only one state where poverty rose last year and income fell. The statistics about the state were released by the U.S. Census Bureau on Tuesday.
The number of people in poverty rose by 45,000 in the year 2006 – 2007 and in the last year the poverty rose from 13.5 to 14%.The state’s nationwide ranking dropped from 24th to 27th.
