President Pervez Musharraf resigns

Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf had been charged of violating constitutional laws and of misconduct. The President was initially reluctant to resign and later he announced that he will resign from his post and will agree to his rival’s demand.

Before resigning Musharraf said that he has been wrongly convicted and after he resigned the people of Pakistan celebrated on the roads. Musharraf was considered to be a US ally and to avoid impeachment he was forced to resign by the opposition parties.
