Movie Review: ‘Brideshead Revisited’

The film ‘Brideshead Revisited’ is set in years following World War I. In his first year in Oxford University, Ryder makes friends with Sebastian Flyte, against the warnings of university’s gangs, and as he sees the Flyte’s family rectory, Ryder’s desires grow on seeing the richness. He falls in love with Sebastian’s sister, Julia.
But he cannot marry her because he is not a Roman Catholic and Julia’s mother, family matriarch, Lady Marchmain considers herself to be holier than everybody on the planet. The film is directed by Julian Jarrold.
