Water existed in rivers and lakes on Mars

Water existed in the form of rivers and lakes on the surface of Mars, some billion of years ago and the evidence of presence of excess water on mars was found by a spacecraft flying high above the surface of Mars.

The presence of water indicated that the planet was habitable and supported life forms and the calculated time of presence of water on Mars by geologists, John F. Mustard and Scott L. Murchie, is about 4.6 and 3.8 billion years ago
