Mercury is shrinking

The planet mercury is said to be shrinking in size. The researchers consider that the shrink is caused by the cooling of the plant’s core. The cooling of the core of the planet will affect the magnetic field of the planet.

The studies were done about the planet by the spacecraft messenger that was sent in January 2008.There is lot of lava found on the surface of the planet that confirms that the planet was really active in past. A flyby to the planet was earlier sent in 1975.
