Phoenix Lander lands on Mars

The Phoenix Lander, 7-foot-tall, 904-pound craft, traveled 422-million-miles and parachuted to the surface of Mars. The first spacecraft of its type had been sent to Mars to on Sunday by NASA to study Mars.
The landing of the spacecraft on the surface of Mars was marked by greetings at the NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory that is located in La CaƱada Flintridge. The lab is currently managing the mission that was initiated 296 days back.
