Yousaf Raza Gilani sworn in as Prime Minister of Pakistan
The president of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf swore in the new Prime Minster of Pakistan Yousaf Raza Gilani after he was selected by the leaders of the parliament for the Prime Minister’s office. Gilani was elected by the parliament on Monday and he belongs to the Benazir Bhutto’s party that is headed by Benazir’s husband Asif Ali Zardari.
Asif and his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari declined to attend the oath ceremony. The leader of opposition party Nawaz Sharif also was absent from the ceremony.
