Atlantic storms hits south coast of England

The southern coast of England was hit was heavy storms and a possibility of floods is not ruled out by the authorities. The high winds in the Atlantic coastal regions led the tides to go high above the normal levels. The high tides are recorded in the Bristol Channel, Somerset coast and Severn Estuary and the authorities warned that the flood barriers in theses regions can fail.
Minor flooding was reported in the coastal regions but the authorities presume that the worst is still to come. Winds flew at 80 MPH and 10,000 homes suffered power cuts after the storms hit the region.
