Delta and Northwest airlines to merge

The Delta and Northwest airlines are very close to the merger deal between the two airline companies. The deal will give the pilots of the airlines and European carrier Air France stake in the airline. The Air Line Pilots Association in both the carriers have at least 5% stake in the merged company and they will also get a seat on the board of directors.

A total of 12,000 pilots constitute the union of pilots of both the companies and for the benefit given to the pilots the pilots will have to help the companies get the merger fast and pilots will have to agree to the contract terms and resolve the issues related to job ranks.
