Former US Republican congressman funded Al Qaeda
Former Republican congressman, Mark D. Siljander has been accused of funding money of about $130,000 to the group that is behind Al Qaeda. Mr. Siljander runs a consulting firm in Washington and is a conservative who has not been accused of the money transfer to Mr. Hekmatyar earlier.
The congressman was defeated in the re-election in 1986 after he served three terms in the house .He had transferred about $130,000 to Pakistan that was taken by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar who was the prime minister of Afghanistan but later was identified as a terrorist by the US and is linked to the terrorist group Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
