Storms in the North of Santiago in Caribbean nation
The tropical storms Olga hit the Dominican Republic on Wednesday followed by heavy rains causing the river Yaque to overflow and flood the area. The tropical heavy storms claimed eight lives and earlier the storms had passed Puerto Rico where it killed one person.
The storm also went through Haiti where no damage to life had been reported and the weather authorities’ report that as the storms will go over the open waters it will weaken. Olga hits the area after the end of Atlantic hurricane season.
