Drug use declining in teenagers

The federally financed survey on teenagers that studied in 8th, 10th and 12th grade students, conducted by the Institute for Social Research at the University of Michigan found that the number of teenagers taking drugs is reducing.

The study is being conducted from the last 33 years and it is found that the popular drugs marijuana and methamphetamines are taken by less number of students as compared to last years and the drugs OxyContin and Vicodin are still in fashion.

The study was conduced on 50000 teenagers that revealed that 1 out of 20 had tried OxyContin. Vicodin is a famous painkiller and 2.7 % of 8th grades students, 7.2 % of 10th grades students and 9.6 % of 12th grades have taken the drug.
