Jena 6 case accepted for a plea bargain
The court has agreed to a plea bargain in the racial Jena 6 case. The attorney of LaSalle Parish District, Atty. Reed Walters had given the verdict in the case of Jena 6 and Judge J.P. Mauffray agreed to the plea bargain three days before the trial in case was to start. The youth Mychal Bell, 17, in the case was charged to second-degree battery and 18 months sentence for beating a white student.
David Utter, attorney in the case of Jena 6 said that this was one of the most difficult cases of his life and now the chanter needs to be closed. More than 20000 protesters had gathered against Jena 6 case in September against the racial discrimination in the town Louisiana.
