Arthritis drug to be tested for death of a patient
A 36 year old woman died after taking the arthritis drug in Illinois. The Food and Drug Administration has given permission to the Targeted Genetics Corp., a Seattle-based company to continue experimenting on the drug that has been given to 127 patients.
The National Institutes of Health advisers reported that woman might have died of fungal infection and the family member’s question the genetically modified virus that is used as the drug is given to the patient to ease the pain of arthritis.
