President Pervez Musharraf to step down as Army chief

Rashid Qureshi spoke to the official Associated Press of Pakistan to announce the latest development during the emergency rule in Pakistan.
He said that President of Pakistan General Pervez Musharraf will step down from his rank as a Army chief to hand over his office to deputy command Ashfaq Parvez Kayani. This step has taken on advice by Pakistan’s key ally nation U.S.
The President will take up the oath for President’s office after taking up civilian ranks and getting down from the army post as ruled by the law.
The US sate department said that democracy can not be implemented in Pakistan unless emergency rule is present and this will be a helpful step towards raising emergency in Pakistan.
