Genentech find Avastin effective on brain cancer

The company Genentech Inc reported on Avastin after conducting research on the drug that it is an effective drug for patients suffering from brain cancer.

The patients with glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), which is a type of brain cancer, can take Avastin for controlling the multiplication of the disease further.

The drug was tested on patients suffering from brain cancer and 36 % of patients showed Avastin stopped the disease to reach higher stages.

Earlier only 15% result was gained for patients suffering from advanced stages of brain cancer. The American Cancer Society data suggests that 3% of the patients suffering from GBM had survival for five years.
