Mismatched Social Security data not to be used to terminate workers
The Bush Government had planned to issue about 140000 Social Security no match letters to different companies that could have challenged the hiring of 8 million workers by the companies.
The insecurities in jobs and a risk of getting terminated could have to be faced by the workers but the federal court in a decision against the rule said that the government can not use the Social Security data criteria to remove illegal immigrants’ workers from jobs.
The immigrants have long suffered the misuse of Social Security clause and this decision has been welcomed by Labor and immigrant rights groups. They say that Social Security number could be used to fire U.S. citizens and documented workers as well.
